South African supermodel Candice Swanepoel is reportedly expecting her first child, according to entertainment outlet E! News. Congratulatory messages have been pouring into her Instagram account where she has dropped hints like a photo of herself gazing at her stomach with the caption: “Oh summer. Pls hurry.”
Although the hugely successful Victoria’s Secret (VS) model has not yet publically announced the happy news, E! News claims that sources close to her have confirmed she, and fiancé Hermann Nicoli, are expecting their first child in the northern hemisphere’s summer.
Candice met the Brazilian love of her life just over ten years ago, in Paris, when she was just 17. They were engaged in August last year.
The E! News source claims: “They are very happy. They plan to spend the summer in New York.”
Candice is alleged to be almost three months pregnant.
Her close friend and fellow VS Angel, Behati Prinsloo (26) – who hails from Grootfontein, Namibia – is also pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Adam Levine (of Maroon 5).
Swanepoel, who grew up in Mooi River, was placed 10th in 2012 on the Forbes top-earning models list. She is actively involved in charities back home, including Mother2Mother, a charity devoted to achieving an “HIV-free generation” of children and mothers in Africa.
