My Africa is my oxygen
shape shifting, fluid ever-changing
Where trees breathe
and skies bleed
Primal and powerful
Wide and wild
Intimate and personal
Great cities where people dance
The rhythm of rainbows
The thread of hope
The dance of life
Where a king reigns over ever-diminishing land
And only survival matters
Where new life is everything
Where ugly is beautiful
and beautiful is dying
And curious connections are constantly created
Where ancient trees might point the way to a quiet room
Where giants move like ghosts in the mist
And a mirage may turn out to be real
Where that most rare commodity, silence still exists
And the only sounds you will hear are those that belong
A speck of dust on a drop of water
