Orlando Pirates won their 11th MTN8 title last term in Jose Riveiro’s first season in charge the Buccaneers. The Sea Robbers won the title in 1972 in its inaugural year. Kaizer Chiefs remain the most successful team in this competition with 15 titles, having first clinched it in 1974. However, along with their overall trophy drought, the Glamour Boys haven’t tasted MTN8 glory since 2014. Sundowns have four titles with Swallows and SuperSport clinching three apiece in their history.
