The Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party is causing so much worry to the ANC that the ruling party has decided to deploy some of its senior members to KwaZulu Natal (KZN) to contain the “ZumaTsunami” in the province.

According to recent by-elections in KwaZulu Natal (KZN), the MK party showed that it could take away votes from the bigger parties such as the ANC, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).

ANC ON THE VERGE OF LOSING KZN

According to the Independent Online,  the ruling party reinforced its NEC deployees to KZN to campaign for the party because some believed they were on the verge of losing the province.

Among high-ranking NEC deployees were Mike Mabuyakhulu, Sbu Ndebele, Zweli Mkhize, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, and former provincial secretary Sipho Gcabashe.

THIS IS NOTHING NEW SAYS SPOKESPERSON IN KZN

“We have long received a list of employees in the province. This is nothing new. We are running our normal campaign as the ANC without any fear,” said Mafika Mndebele, the party’s spokesperson in the province.

Earlier in the month, political commentator, activist, and Citizen Forum spokesperson Dennis Bloem described the emergence of the MK Party as exciting, saying it could harm the governing party in a big way.

MK PARTY A BIG THREAT TO THE ANC IN THE PROVINCE

Bloem said the MK Party was a significant threat to the ANC as it was evident that Jacob Zuma would take a big chunk of the party’s support in the coming elections.

He further said he was confident that the ANC was shivering whenever they saw the MK Party’s big numbers pulling at their rallies because it knew some supporters were their members.
