Former “Sushi King” turned politician Kenny Kunene wore two luxury watches during an interview as he distanced himself from controversial businessman KT Katiso Molefe, who was arrested for allegedly orchestrating the murder of Oupa John Sefoka, also known as DJ Sumbody.

Kunene, who serves as the deputy president of the Patriotic Alliance, continues to assert his innocence.

KENNY KUNENE SPOTTED WEARING TWO LUXURY WATCHES

Eagle-eyed X users noticed that Kenny Kunene wore two luxury watches during his interview with eNCA.

He flaunted a neon green U-Boat Darkmoon, an Italian timepiece valued at around R30,000, and a high-end Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph, a sought-after Swiss watch worth over R1 million.

Kunene, a former convict, built a reputation for his multi-million rand ventures and flashy lifestyle. After leaving Grootvlei prison, he gained the nickname “Sushi King” for his infamous habit of eating sushi off half-naked women.

‘I DON’T KNOW MR MOLEFE’

During his interview, Kenny Kunene claims he met Katiso Molefe once before being caught at his upmarket Sandton home this week.

Moelefe is accused of allegedly ordering the hit on DJ Sumbody, who died in a hail of bullets in 2022.

“I have never been there before. I have no relationship with Mr Molefe, I don’t have his cell number. The police established that.

According to Kunene, he was at the “wrong place, wrong time”.

“I have done nothing. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time, for the right reasons,” Kunene told the Mail & Guardian.

Kunene claims he was accompanying a journalist to Molefe’s house to conduct an exclusive interview for his online publication, African News Global.

He said: “I spoke to my contacts who know this guy. He agreed to the interview to tell his side of the story. I was then told to bring the journalist because they felt comfortable with my presence.

“As we drove in — before entering the house — and while greeting the person who had connected us to him, the police kicked the gate to come in.”
