Julie Goodness, the American woman who was reported missing on Monday morning, was found alive on Wednesday afternoon.

Goodness, 38, went missing after leaving her Gardens home.

“Police can confirm that the missing woman has been found on Wednesday. She is safely reunited with friends,” said Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie.

Cape Town central community policing forum chairperson Marc Truss said Goodness had been found unharmed.

CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING JULIE GOODNESS’S DISAPPEARANCE REMAIN UNCLEAR

“She is safe, not hurt and is doing well. She was found in the CBD area and has since been reunited with her loved ones.”

The circumstances surrounding her two-day disappearance are unclear.

Ward councillor Nicola Jowell said on Facebook: “Thank you to everyone who has looked, searched, prayed and offered help. There was no crime involved and she is safe which is the most important thing.”

“We’re all so happy and relieved that our Julie has been found safe. We would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everybody involved in ensuring that she was found and brought to safety.

“And finally, just to stress that this has been a very difficult time, and we appeal to the media and the public to respect our space and privacy,” the family said in a statement.
