President of National Coloured Congress(NCC) Fadiel Adams says he’s moved on from the racist public argument with City Manager Lungelo Mbandazayo.

After complying with an Equality Court order, Adams apologized to Mbandazayo and withdrew his offensive comments.

ADAMS COMPLIES WITH COURT ORDER, ISSUES APOLOGY TO MBANDAZAYO

Adam wrote an apology letter to Mbandazayo claiming in the letter that he momentarily lost sight of the principles of integrity, respect, and dignity, as well as the judicial authorities.

“I, hereby unconditionally, without any qualification, tender my sincere apologies to the Honourable Mangcu-Lockwood and Mr Lungelo Mbandazayo for any offending remarks I made during the aforementioned social media post,” Adams said.

Cape Argus reported that Adams said he is sincere about his apology and retracts his comment and acknowledges that his comments to Mbandazayo were completely uncalled for.

Adams and the city manager bumped heads back in 2018 when a contract for repairing staircases in residential flats on the Cape Flats was cancelled.

BEEF BETWEEN ADAMS AND MBANDAZAYO

Adams and Mbandazayo did not see eye to eye in 2018 when a contract for repairing staircases at the Cape Flats had been cancelled.

Cape Argus reported that during a live Facebook broadcast Adams had referred to Mbandazayo “from the Eastern Cape”, which the court ruled to be racially offensive.

Judge Nobahle Mangcu-Lockwood who was in charge of the case determined Adams comment as racist towards Mbandazayo it also meant that he saw Mbandazayo as inferior and unable, rather than a neutral geographic reference.

Mangcu-Lockwood urged Adams to remove the social media post and had to pay Mbandazayo legal costs.

Adams commented yesterday that he was willing to comply with the court because the NCC party respected the law.

“I will comply with the court because we are a party that believes in the rule of law.

“If I was wrong let me apologise but let the city manager answer the questions that we posed. Let him answer the questions.

“We move on, we have criminals to root out here. Here are people who are stealing the coloured people blind and they have been getting away with it for years.”
