Orlando Pirates play their final friendly match in Spain against La Liga side Las Palmas on Wednesday morning.

The Buccaneers have so far won all their matches this pre-season and will look to upset the newly promoted Spanish club.

Jose Riveiro’s side defeated Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv 1-0 in their first pre-season match last week. On Saturday, they came from a goal down to register a 3-1 victory over Ecuadorian outfit Independiente del Valle at Marbella Football Centre in Malaga.

Young players such as Monnapule Saleng, Goodman Mosele, James Monyane and Sandile Mthethwa need to work their socks off in order to impress García Pimienta, who is the head coach of Los Canariones. A good showing from the Buccaneers could see the Spanish club sign one of two players from Pirates as they look to boost their squad.

Las Palmas recently got promoted to La Liga and could do with new players in order to be competitive in Spanish’s top leage so if Riveiro’s charges can pull off a surprise win, European teams might be more interested in not only Pirates players but the PSL as a whole.
