Referring to the Jacob Zuma-backed MK Party? President Cyril Ramaphosa says anyone who is threatening any form of unrest will be arrested.

Ramaphosa’s warning comes after the MK Party’s Visvin Reddy was seen in a video threatening the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and saying that there would be no election in the country should the MK Party not appear in the ballot paper.

In the video Reddy said no one in this country will vote.

“We are sending a loud and clear message that if these courts which are sometimes captured, if they stop MK, there will be anarchy in this country. There will be riots like you never seen in this country, there’ll be no election. No South African will go the polls if MK is not on the ballot paper,” he added.

Reddy has since apologised for his remarks saying that they were misconstrued.

Meanwhile President Cyril Ramaphosa has made it clear that anyone who threatens an unrest will be dealt with.

“I want to make it very clear to anyone who is threatening any form of unrest that they will be followed up and they will be arrested. Those are people who belong in jail, those are people who are the enemies of our democracy.

“The people of South Africa value this hard earned democracy they don’t want any form of instability,” he said.

In addition, Ramaphosa said if anyone is dissatisfied with any decision either made by the government, the President, a Minister or even a court of law there are ways in which all the complaints can be followed up.
