The Soweto Derby comes at the right time and coach Jose Riveiro says Orlando Pirates can’t feel sorry for themselves.

Pirates will host old rivals, Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon and Riveiro says they can’t feel sorry.

The Spaniard, Riveiro looks at the draw against Cape Town Spurs and he says the derby comes at the right time.

Pirates claimed a win in the first round of the Soweto Derby and Riveiro explains they can’t feel pity for themselves.

ORLANDO PIRATES CAN’T FEEL SORRY FOR THEMSELVES

“I think this is a perfect time to play the derby,” says Riveiro to the media about the Soweto Derby.

“Because we are coming back from a disappointing result against Spurs.

“It is good to have a game of this magnitude and we don’t have time to feel sorry for ourselves.

“We got to push ourselves to the limit because it is what’s going to be required and demanded on Saturday.”

He adds that he hopes they will deliver the goods on the day as they are hosting a team that comes from a win over Golden Arrows.

“As usual, when we play these types of games as professionals,” adds the Pirates coach, Riveiro.

“We need to exercise an extra concentration level.”

RIVEIRO: PIRATES MUST SILENCE THE NOISE IN THE SOWETO DERBY

Moreover, Riveiro is underfire from Pirates fans who want him to vacate his position after the draw against Spurs.

Riveiro now challenges his Pirates players to fight and silence their critics with a good result over Chiefs.

“It will be difficult because the excitement around the match is big,” continues Riveiro on the derby.

“At the same time, one of the key things for us will be to silence a little bit of the noise.

“The focus will be to do better, and offer a good spectacle to the spectators.”
