Unsure how to file your tax return? SARS is here to help
SARS has set up Mobile Tax Units and Pop-up branches nationwide to help taxpayers submit their tax returns.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has released the schedule for its Mobile Tax Units and Pop-up branches nationwide.
These branches will help taxpayers complete and submit their Income Tax Returns (ITR12) via the MobiApp and eFiling platforms. They will also provide support for general filing season enquiries.
SARS will roll out these stations across several provinces in the coming months. Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, and the North West will receive access starting in July.
Mpumalanga will have the service from July to September, while the Eastern Cape, Free State, and Northern Cape will have access from July to October. The Western Cape is set to receive the units in September.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO HAVE WITH YOU?
SARS advises that if you need help from the Mobile Tax Units or Pop-up branches, you must bring your original identity document, IRP5, medical aid certificates, retirement annuity fund certificate, and travel logs. You also need to bring your smartphone.
TAXPAYERS URGED TO ENSURE THEIR DETAILS ARE CORRECT
SARS requires taxpayers to ensure that their banking details are correct and updated. If you need to update your banking details, make sure your security contact information, your email address and cellphone number is accurate. You must also have up-to-date login credentials for your eFiling profile.
To update your security contact details, log into your eFiling profile and click on ‘My Profile’ in the menu. Then, go to Profile and Preference Setup, scroll to the Security Contact Details section, and update your email address or cellphone number.
You can select your preferred communication method—email or SMS—to receive a One-Time Pin (OTP). Once you receive the OTP, enter it on your profile to verify and confirm the changes.
