Bavuma gets early exit: falls for four-ball duck

South Africa’s skipper, Temba Bavuma, faced a setback as he fell for a four-ball duck in the crucial World Cup semi-final against Australia.

South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma fell for a four-ball duck after he elected to bat against Australia in the second World Cup semi-final on Thursday.

Bavuma, who said he was not “100 percent” fit after the hamstring injury he suffered against Afghanistan, was caught behind off Mitchell Starc in the first over at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.

WORLD CUP FINAL

South Africa are chasing their first ever World Cup final after faltering in four semi-finals including two against Australia in 1999 and 2007.

The winners of Thursday’s game will take on undefeated hosts India, who knocked out New Zealand in the first semi-final, in Sunday’s final at Ahmedabad.
