“Defensively I think Kaizer Chiefs should sign Stellenbosch captain Deano Van Rooyen. He is the only other right-back who can compete with Khuliso Mudau at Bafana Bafana,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV.

Khanye believes that Van Rooyen was unlucky to miss out on the AFCON squad.

“I don’t understand why he is not in the squad instead of Nyiko Mobbie. Chiefs need a player like Van Rooyen,” Khanye added.

“He is very quick, very good at recovering when not in possession, and he has proven himself as a trophy winner.”

FOUR MORE STARS FOR KAIZER CHIEFS

Khanye added another four names into the mix that he feels could add quality to the Glamour Boys squad.

He picked out Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo, left back Qobolwakhe Sibande of Stellies, and City hard men Brice Ambina and Kean Cupido.

“Khanyisa Mayo would be another good fit for Chiefs. His father played for the club. He is very good technically. He still needs to improve but he has proven himself to be a good goal scoring forward.

“Other players for me would be Qobolwakhe Sibande, a left-back at Stellenbosch. Brice Ambina, defensive midfielder at Cape Town City and Keanu Cupido, the centre-back at Cape Town City.”
