Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile is going to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after Namibia secured their place in the finals.

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile is going to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after Namibia secured their place in the finals.

Namibia had already played their four qualifying games when Cameroon took on Burundi in the final Group C match on Tuesday night.

And all Namibia needed was for either Cameroon or Burundi to lose in order to qualify as they had already bagged five points from the four games.

Both Cameroon and Burundi were sitting on four points each, and either side needed to win to book their place in the final.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STRIKER SHALULILE OFF TO IVORY COAST

Now, Cameroon hammered Burundi 3-0 at Roumdé Adjia Stadium to finish as Group C winners with Namibia coming in second place.

Peter Shalulile played a huge role in Namibia qualifying for the AFCON as he scored some important goals during their campaign.

It is also worth mentioning that it was during these qualifiers that Shalulile became the country’s all-time goalscorer with 16 goals from 49 international matches.

Namibia qualifies for the AFCON for only the fourth time in their history, and this will be their first appearance at the final since 2019.
