Moroka Swallows faces backlash for Komphela’s axing

Moroka Swallows faces major criticiams and scrutiny following their dismissal of head coach, Steve Komphela. This, after slashing 22 players.

Moroka Swallows fans are unhappy after Steve Komphela’s axing, they blast the club bosses for running it like a spaza shop.

The embattled club, Swallows announced the news on Monday evening as they part ways with Komphela.

In a statement, Swallows fans say the club’s management is running it like a spaza shop as they react to Komphela’s axing.

Komphela’s departure and axing came from salary struggles where some players didn’t get their salaries.

At the same time, The South African is led to believe that the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Komphela didn’t return to the club since last year.

“This Swallows environment is extremely incomprehensible,” Komphela blasts the club for no communication per SABC Sport. 

“No one can tell you [and] I also can’t comprehend a thing.”

Judging social media reactions from the media statement, Swallows fans are unhappy and blast the club for the decision on Komphela.

The club, Swallows says the seasoned Komphela leaves on the mutual agreement but some fans feel there is no stability in the Dobsonville-based club.

“Moroka Swallows FC and coach Steve have agreed to a mutual separation,” reads a statement from Swallows on Komphela.

“Coach Steve has expressed gratitude to the club and has wished us well.”

In addition, scores of fans are now airing their views on Komphela’s axing, they blast the club for the decision.
