Orlando Pirates star Deon Hotto and Mamelodi Sundowns ace Peter Shalulile will be smiling all the way to the bank alongside a host of other PSL stars.

This comes after Namibia earned a historic first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) victory on Tuesday over Tunisia.

Hotto’s late strike was enough for Namibia to squeeze past Tunisia in their opening group E match in the Ivory Coast.

The maiden AFCON victory comes with an epic financial bonus for Namibia’s players.

According to the latest reports, R300 000 in bonus prize money will be given to Namibia’s players following Deon Hotto’s match-winning goal.

“The Namibian national team have received a R300,000 bonus for their historic first-ever win at the Africa Cup of Nations and just days before facing Bafana Bafana.” an IdiskiTimes report read.

Namibia have nine PSL based players in their squad. Namely Peter Shalulile (Mamelodi Sundowns), Deon Hotto (Orlando Pirates), Lloydt Kazapua (Chippa United), Riaan Hanamub (AmaZulu), Lubeni Haukongo (Cape Town Spurs), Edward Maova (University of Pretoria), Ananias Gebhardt (Baroka), Bethuel Muzeu (Black Leopards), and Joslin Kamatuka (Maritzburg United).

In other news, Makhehlene Makhaula’s contract at Orlando Pirates comes to an end in June 2024.

The hard-tackling midfielder has struggled for game-time at the Buccaneers this season.

Makhaula has made just four substitute appearances for Orlando Pirates this season and, according to reports, the club are yet to decide if they’re going to trigger his contract extension clause or not!

“As far as I know, Makhaula is still an Orlando Pirates player. He has the option on the contract,” Makhehlene Makhaula’s agent, Sizwe Ntsangase, told iDiskiTimes.

“But I’d say whoever wants to speak about him, must contact the club.”
