Springbok front-rower Ntuthuko Mchunu has agreed to a contract extension with the Durban-based Sharks.

The Sharks revealed on Monday that the 24-year-old loosehead prop had signed a new two-year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2025 season.

Mchunu, who stands at 1.88m and weighs 114kg, is known for his athleticism and impact in general play.

SHARKS HAVE RESIGNED A NUMBER OF PLAYERS

He initially played as a loose forward for his school, Maritzburg College, before moving to the front row.

He made his Test debut for South Africa against Wales last year – his only appearance in Springbok colours to date.

Meanwhile, the Sharks also announced that versatile back Marnus Potgieter has extended his contract with the franchise for another three years.

The centre-cum-wing’s new deal follows recent contract renewals for flyhalf Curwin Bosch and loose forward Phepsi Buthelezi.
