Stanley Nwabali happy to stay at Chippa United

Chiefs have had their eye on Stanley Nwabali ever since his performance at AFCON but it seems the keeper is happy to stay at Chippa

Kaizer Chiefs target Stanley Nwabali looks set to stay at Chippa United.

KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET STANLEY NWABALI SHINES

Nwabali made his name at Chippa United during the first half of 2023/24. He went on to grab the number one spot for the Super Eagles of Nigeria at AFCON 2023.

The 27-year-old Nigerian further inspired the West Africans to go as far as the final before losing to Ivory Coast.

Bafana Bafana’s Ronwen Williams eventually pipped Nwabali to the Afcon 2023 Goalkeeper of the Tournament gong.

The performance duly intensified interest in the Chippa number one.

NWABALI TO STAY AT CHIPPA UNITED?

Speaking to the media since Afcon, Nwabali has expressed intense appreciation and loyalty for his club chairman.

“You see when you play under an understanding chairman, everything comes – confidence comes… Imagine you’re playing under a chairman who wants all his players to be comfortable, you must work for this man, even when you’re in or out [of the team],” Nwabali said via SABC Sport.

“To be honest, I really wish to play one or two more years with him – I really wish this. If it’s his wish [too], fine, but I really wish [to stay] because he’s a nice man.

“As I said earlier, he wished me well so I really want to how him this love, maybe once again, but I just wish [for this]. But if it’s the end of my time with the club at the end of this season, so be it. If there’s something that I’m going to still continue, so be it,” the reported Chiefs target concluded.
