Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki hopes that the upcoming FIFA break will ‘heal their wounds’ following a 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City on Tuesday.

Cape Town City defeated Amakhosi 1-0 at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday night to move up to fifth in the DStv Premiership.

Speaking after the match, the Kaizer Chiefs coach said two week break was needed and that he would be working with the players during the FIFA break.

“Time heals. The two weeks that we’ll be working with the players will also give them time to heal. When we prepare we always prepare to win but in football you win some and you lose some,” Ntseki said as per SowetanLive.

Amakhosi have been blowing hot and cold this season, only managing to win three games in nine league outings thus far. Their poor showing has led many Khosi fans to call for the sacking of Ntseki.

“No coach and no team will be happy with inconsistent results. We are working very hard with the players to get the rhythm right so that we can build on the confidence. The confidence that will help us score goals when we are playing well,” Ntseki added.

The FIFA break comes at the right time for Ntseki and his troops. The team has underperformed so far this season, and out of the 12 games they played this season in all competition, they only dominated one and that was a 3-0 over AmaZulu back in August.
