NEW THINGS WORTH TRYING OUT:

THROUGH THE EYES OF AN ELEPHANT

This new experience brings visitors up close with elephants in their natural surroundings.

The project employs elephant behaviour experts and scientists who monitor distressed elephants while keeping them in their natural habitat.

Zimbabwe has 82 360 elephants – roughly the same number of elephants found in the entire elephant population of East Africa. This results in conflicts between humans and elephants.

The project focuses on helping elephants and humans to coexist.

ELECREW REHABILITATION TEAM

eleCREW’s team of scientists and elephant behaviour specialists focus on community, research, welfare and education for elephants and the communities in which they live.

Visitors to the centre will enjoy fun and informative experiences with eleCREW’s staff, some of the elephants that are cared for, and maybe even a pool party! That is if the elephants decide to take a dip in the waterhole during your visit.

The experience includes an informative presentation, some elephant interaction, a morning tea on the deck with wonderful views of the waterhole, and the elephants in their natural habitat.

Local restauranteur and Chef Sarah Lilford, who has published several cookery books has taken her love for food to Victoria Falls.

Lilford opened the now hugely popular Dusty Road Township Experience in 2020 but battled to get the business off the ground during the pandemic.

Ongoing lockdown restrictions and a global downturn in tourism took a toll on the small business, which employs 15 locals.
