The Kruger National Park has given an update on the restaurant employee who was bitten on the arm by a hyena while sleeping in the Berg-en-Dal staff living quarters on Wednesday, 21 February.

As reported by The South African website, the hyena was euthanised following the attack.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, it was confirmed that the unnamed employee had arrived safely at a hospital in Pretoria.

Her condition is said to be “stable”.

The Facebook page promised to provide more information on Friday once she has been attended to by a specialist surgeon.

Meanwhile, restaurant management are said to be in constant communication with the employee and will give updates when necessary.

The Kruger National Park page thanked those who have sent their well wishes for a speedy recovery for the employee.
