On his most recent excursion on Tuesday, Tresfon photographed three orcas near Robben Island – including a mother (photographed) and two calves.

He added that another seven orcas were reportedly spotted only a few miles away.

Tresfon wrote: “Boom! Yesterday was special beyond the telling of it… A chance encounter with three orcas near Robben Island, including this mother and calf pair. They raced through the dirty water on a mission to join up with the rest of their pod (we found out later that there were another seven orcas a few miles away). The #mothercity always delivers!”
