According to National Geographic (NG): “While hornbills have a mutualistic hunting relationship with adult mongooses, they have also been known to eat vertebrates the size of these pups.”

However, NG reckons that although the pup appeared to be pretending to be dead, the fearless mongooses were most probably trying to lure the hornbill to play with them, as experts say mongooses are known to lie on their back as an invite to wrestle.

The humorous video has already had over 2.5 million views on Facebook since NG posted it 14 hours ago!
