As predicted, more snow has fallen across parts of South Africa this week! Popular SAPeople contributor and Moving to the Platteland co-author, Julienne du Toit, captured these gorgeous photos in Richmond this morning… (See Updated photos at bottom of page.)

Snow Report SA had predicted light snow on the southern high ground in the Northern Cape with heavier falls in Richmond and Victoria West. They were right…

Snow Report’s forecast for the rest of South Africa included:
Western Cape: Light snowfalls possible across all high peaks from West to East. Some heavier falls expected over the Swartberg and Outeniquas.

Eastern Cape: Expecting quite heavy falls of snow on the Sneeuberge between Graaff-Reinet and Middelburg, with some lighter snowfalls at lower elevations. By Saturday evening, there should still be some light falls in the Hogsback area, but the Eastern Cape Drakensberg should now be experiencing the heavier falls, through to early Sunday morning.

Kwa-Zulu Natal: Some light snowfalls are possible in the Kokstad/Matatiele area of KZN late on Saturday and could continue through to Sunday morning. The front will move further east on Saturday night into Sunday morning, bringing snow into the KZN Drakensberg, and possibly some light snow in the Drakensberg Gardens Road area. Heavier snow possible up Sani Pass and all the high peaks of the KZN Drakensberg. There might also be couple of flurries in the Midlands.
Lesotho: Light snow should start in the south initially, and by sunrise on Sunday, most of Lesotho is expected to have experienced some snow, with the heavier falls expected in the east.

All snowfalls are expected to stop around midday Sunday.
