Every single time someone experiences any form of stress, tension or trauma the Sympathetic nervous system is triggered, releasing Adrenaline and nor-adrenaline into the facia causing a fight, flight, freeze response. Most humans spend 85-95% of their daily routine stuck in this nervous system and experience “danger signals” as normal, says Medic Nix.

Every time you wake up with an alarm clock, then realize you’re late for work, check emails, get stuck in traffic, get cut off or have any kind of stress impulse the “danger” signal is triggered releasing adrenaline into the body. Over time, this causes your cortisol levels to spike and dropping your immune system.

Humans can shake like a herd of Springbok after a terrifying incident

Trauma specialist, Dr David Berceli realized that all humans have the unique ability (like animals) to tremor (or shake) after any terrifying incident. He uses the example of a herd of Springbok getting hunted and their adrenaline getting activated sending them into an instant “flight” mode and running away. The lion then grabs its prey, and the rest of the herd will stop running and start to tremor (shake). As they tremor, they release the adrenaline out of the facia and activate the Para-sympathetic nervous system causing a “safety” signal (aka Rest and Digest) in their entire body. This means, the tremor releases the trauma stuck in the body and they are no longer afraid and carry on grazing as per normal.

Humans have this exact same mechanism in their brain stem, however from young, we get taught not to complete trauma cycles (or tremor) as we get picked up and comforted and told “not to cry, or to be brave, or it wasn’t that bad” etc.. Therefore, our Sympathetic (danger) signals gets activated often and our Parasympathetic (Safety) signal gets ignored.

7 easy stretches to allow the body to heal itself on a cellular level

Done often enough we then experience cellular damage over time, that causes our brain to lose the ability to rest and sleep, and our digestive system to not functioning properly. Mental and physical illness can all be traced back to original trauma events where the parasympathetic nervous system was not activated.

Dr Berceli has therefore designed seven easy exercises/stretches that if done in the correct sequence activate the danger and safety signals in the brain, allowing the brain to eventually activate “safety” and then release tension and trauma on a deep neurological and physical pathway causing the settling of the nervous system, which then allows the body to heal itself on a cellular level.

The seven exercises trigger danger, danger, danger, safety, safety, danger/safety and eventually safety, which when done properly with the assistance of a Trauma Release Practitioner allows the client to lie in a comfortable position, legs angled in the shape of a V and the body then starts to tremor, releasing the tension and trauma deep within the brainstem, limbic and neo cortex part of the brain.

“healed herself… from severe insomnia, anxiety, depression, PTSD and even cervical cancerous cells”

Medic Nix is such a Trauma Release Practitioner. She has personally healed herself through these exercises, from severe insomnia, anxiety, depression, PTSD and even cervical cancerous cells! She has helped clients with nerve damage experience miraculous instant regeneration of feelings, as well as ex ruby players restore cartilage damage to their knee, and when told, they can never play sports again, return back to their passion. Her clients also include people suffering with high blood pressure, migraines, IBS, fibromyalgia and children with ADHD, Dyslexia, Sensory integration disorder amongst others.

TRE (Trauma Release Exercises) is a powerful tool, as it equips the client personally with the steps, to settle their own nervous system, meaning they are not dependent long term on a practitioner but can use the exercises and breathing techniques at any time to calm themselves down, allowing their brains and bodies to rest and digest food and information and therefore creating new neurological pathways that indeed bring true healing to the mind and body.

It is proven that TRE releases serotonin, melatonin, oxytocin and dopamine into the brain allowing for a special feeling of happiness, health and healing. TRE is a power technique that anyone can learn and start practicing in their daily lives.

Medic Nix is passionate about creating awareness for these exercises and empowering people with the knowledge and skills to improve their mental and physical well-being.

Her motto is #savinglives and she has dedicated her life to helping those who are truly in need for healing. Having survived over 180 personal traumas’ as well as countless others as a professional nurse and paramedic she is currently writing her life story and trauma stories in the hope that one day she will be able to help heal millions of people.

Her heart’s desire is for everyone to know, they are not alone in their suffering and to speak up for people who are not brave enough to do so themselves. Allowing people, a voice, so that everyone knows, they are seen, heard, loved and equipped to live their best lives.

Medic Nix also teaches First Aid and Frail Care online or face to face and is available for bookings on www.healthtraining.co.za.
