KAIZER CHIEFS HUFF AND PUFF ONCE AGAIN

Cavin Johnson was left baffled by Chiefs’ toothless display after a six-week hiatus in the domestic league programme. A disjointed performance was a concern for the boss who had all of his players available for the mini pre-season.

“It’s six-week pre-season and we all had it. Normally, this type of performance you will expect at the beginning of the season, and it’s halfway through the season and it is the same type of performance,” reflected Johnson.

“But we will take the one point, it is away from home, and we will go for the next game.”

GOALS CONTINUE TO BE THE PROBLEM

In 17 league matches this term, Chiefs have scored 16 goals. You don’t need a maths degree to deduce that a side scoring less than a goal per game has serious issues. This is not a new problem though. In 2022-23, the Glamour Boys notched up just 32 league goals in 30 matches. It’s a miserly average for a team of this stature.
