While Gauteng is getting battered by storms, the Western Cape experienced its own gale force winds today, causing big swells and waves at Kalk Bay Harbour in South Africa. RONEL ERLANK SLABBERT captured the waves, the sand blowing across the R310 and a very happy seal…

This morning the winds in the Western Cape were predicted to reach 60 to 70 km/hour in places.

“The wind almost blew me over!” said Ronel.





The force of the winds could be seen driving along Baden Powell Drive, with the sand blowing across the R310.


Fortunately there was some respite – shelter from the wind within the harbour walls…
