‘Useless bank’: Capitec app crashes AGAIN

Long weekend babalas? The Capitec app has crashed again, and South African users are annoyed! Here is the latest response from the bank…

For the umpteenth time, the Capitec app is experiencing technical issues resulting in thousands of angry South Africans.

According to social media users, the bank’s app crashed again on Tuesday morning after the long Heritage Day weekend.

On Tuesday, 26 September, Capitec users found that not only had the mobile app crashed, but the Internet banking was also problematic.

Responding to users, the bank issued a statement on its Twitter or X account.

It read: “We apologise for the inconvenience. We are aware of the problem. Our IT team is working on fixing the issues as soon as possible.”

With the Capitec app being out of order, many X users have vented about being left in the lurch when it comes to their banking.

Many threatened to jump ship to other banks.

@KaybeeKabeloM: “I am trying to top up my account by trying to transfer money from my savings to an active account boom, offline Capitec banking app. Now I have to leave everything.”

@RichBlackWidow: “I have never been so frustrated by the Capitec app for the entire morning. Is it maybe time we move to other banks, with better service?

@Annie_Modiba: “You can’t defend Capitec bank. I try, but I always take it back. I can’t even explain why I’m using the bank.”
