Grieving Ronan Keating says there’s no better place to heal than South Africa

Irish pop star Ronan Keating, whose beloved brother Ciaran died last month in a car accident, chose South Africa as the ideal place for him and his family to heal from the tragedy.
“There is no more fitting a place to heal, than in South Africa surrounded by Mother Nature and great people; and our little bundles of joy Cooper and Coco, have kept us going constantly. Thank you God,” Ronan wrote on Instagram.
The 46-year-old also posted several photos from his South African safari holiday with wife Storm and their children Cooper and Coco.
The former Boyzone singer, who has worked closely with SA golf legend Gary Player to raise money for young impoverished South Africans, performed at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, in March this year (2023).
As with Prince Harry, Keating has had a connection with SA for years. He last performed at Kirstenbosch two decades ago, and even spent his honeymoon with Storm in Cape Town. The couple celebrated their eight-year wedding anniversary a couple of days ago, with Storm saying: “I love you more today than I ever dreamt was even possible. I am the proudest wife, mummy and stepmum. Our family is my world and you are the greatest and most adored man I know. By all of us. Love you and thank you for being my best friend and soul mate 😘”
Storm posted a beautiful safari video featuring the family and the wildlife, captioning it “Bush Medicine 🇿🇦”. The family also spent time at the Leopard Creek Country Club.
Ronan posted an anniversary message thanking Storm for her honesty and love, and admitting “without you I would be somewhere very dark. Your love is my compass. Always hard to be apart but knowing it’s there always brings me back safe…”
After taking time off to mourn and heal in South Africa, Keating left to perform in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
In a message to “everyone”, Ronan said:
“Just wanted to say thank you for the love and respect you have shown my family over the last 5 weeks. It has been the hardest time for us all, and everyone is trying to manage a life now without our brother (very hard to even type that 💔).
Thank you for all your messages of support and also respecting our privacy during this time. There is no more fitting a place to heal, than in South Africa surrounded by Mother Nature and great people and our little bundles of joy Cooper and Coco, have kept us going constantly. Thank you god.
Back to work for me in another part of the world I love now… it all seems rather difficult to make sense of but trying my best.
Take care of each other and from Storm, myself and all my family, thank you.”
