Mandela Day is coming up on Monday 18 July. If you don’t yet have a plan on how you’d like to honour the day, please consider Caroline van Saasen’s plea below…

Caroline, founder of the phenomenal Water Shortage South Africa (WSSA) community page on Facebook, says: “South Africa is in the grip on the worst drought in 100 years.

“Over 6 months WSSA’s Facebook Community page has delivered 31 million litres of water to communities without a drop of water in this country at less than R300 per day.

“We challenge you to help and support us during the Mandela Day celebration…

“Would you donate 67 litres of water on Mandela day?

“Maybe even R67 toward helping a town in need?

“Maybe the value of 67 litres of diesel to transport water?”
