The Hawks Serious Corruption Investigation Unit pounced on the Sergeant and Warrant Officer – aged between 45 and 53 – after the morning parade on Monday, 15 May.

“Their arrest emanates from information received about suspected warders who were receiving money from inmates in January this year. The alleged commission of crime happened between the period between March 2020 to the year 2021,” said the Hawks spokesperson in the Western Cape, Zinzi Hani.
