If you’ve ever thought that your whiskey drink doesn’t have enough body, there are options for you. Just like Irish Whiskey broke the rules before becoming one of the most popular beverages in the world, mixing whiskey with porter rather than drinking it neat will become a new favourite. This Irish Rover cocktail is a rich and creamy “beertail” that’s perfect for those days when the food’s taking a bit long and you want to keep the party going.

IRISH ROVER COCKTAIL SUGGESTIONS

Porter, unlike stout, is maltier and incredibly rich and smooth, and isn’t served too cold, so you have a room temperature drink that provides you with richness and flavour. The porter is creamy and complex which will pair well with the dark fruit and chocolate notes in the Pogues Irish Whiskey with a slight citrus note. This drunk is beautiful in its simplicity and is a welcome addition to any event you’re planning with your favourite whiskey and beer-drinking friends.
