In the midst of rumours that SA Idols judge Somizi has split with Mohale Mhlongo-Motaung, Somizi on Sunday morning posted a video of a romantic strawberry and champagne brunch beside the swimming pool. And this is who he was enjoying the brunch with:

A little later today (Sunday 15 Nov), Somizi also posted this video – look who’s on the phone in the background:

For weeks the South African press has published rumours that the couple’s relationship has been battling under the strain of publicity and scrutiny, and that Mohale – who is 23 years younger at 26 – has moved out of their marital home. It was reported that Somizi did not accompany Mohale to a friend’s funeral, and that there has been infidelity.

This comes just weeks after the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary in September.

But on Saturday night, Somizi posted a photo of himself standing in front of a Mini Cooper and referenced his husband, saying: “Congratulations hubby @mohale_77.”

Mohale thanked Somizi, saying: “Thank you HubStar ❤️?❤️”

Last night Mohale announced his brand partnerships with Mini, which he said was so “dear to me” because “Growing up, I always imagined that the car I’d drive as a young adult is a MINI. So driving the MINI Clubman S was such a 360 moment for me. It represented the aspirations of a young boy from *Soweto* coming true. It also represents the man I am. A young black man, who lives in a country full of possibilities and is free to be who they are.”

In another video posted on Sunday, filmed inside the house showing a table with flowers and candles, Somizi said simply: “Love and light.” (You can watch the strawberry and champagne video here.)

Somizi this week announced that he’ll be supporting small and new businesses by promoting the best five, who submit their presentations, at the end of each month.
