What are the adjusted toll fees for 2024?
Embattled motorists should prepare for the following adjusted toll fees in 2024 that come into effect on Friday 1 March 2024.
It’s bad news for embattled motorists with news of adjusted toll fees in 2024 that come into effect next month (Friday 1 March 2024). According to Business Tech, The South African National Roads Agency is behind the adjusted toll fees in 2024, and it says they’re not as severe as they could have been.
Adjust toll fees in 2024 will amount to a 6.25% increase across the board. The agency says tariff hikes for 2024 have been adjusted with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as obtained from Stats SA. They are in fact lower than they should have been. 6.25% versus 6.58% in 2023.
ADJUSTED TOLL FEES IN 2024
Adjusted toll fees in 2024 go towards maintenance, operation and improvement of toll roads. Furthermore, the increased fees service agency debt incurred from implementing toll-road projects. “We are empathetic to the current state of the economy. However, it is equally important to introduce the adjustments to ensure that we continue to deliver safe and quality roads for all road users,” said the agency.
