Chippa United boss Morgan Mammila declares war on Mamelodi Sundowns, saying he is not scared of the reigning DStv Premiership champions.

Mammila will lead Chippa when Sundowns visits the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday night and he is in a bullish mood – reports IOL.

Fresh from two draws against Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, the controversial Chippa boss says there is no special team in the South African top flight.

While Sundows have demolished Golden Arrows in the previous league encounter on Tuesday, Mammila seems to be unfazed by Rulani Mokwena’s men.

Speaking ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash in Gqeberha, the former Moroka Swallows mentor promises to go pound for pound against Masandawana.

“Let them (Sundowns) come because we’re waiting for them,” said Mammila.

“The fixtures said we had to play three top teams in a matter of five games. They’re (Sundowns) next, they are going get the same thing, no parking of the bus, pound for pound.

“I don’t care who you are, we’re equal here.”

Reflecting on the three stalemates against Amakhosi and the Buccaneers including TS Galaxy, the outspoken tactician believes that was not a fluke because his men are physically and mentally fit.

“My players can match Sundowns when it comes to fitness and mental strength,” added Mammila.

“The only slight advantage for Sundowns is that they are clinical in front of goal.

“We are still building towards being clinical in front of goal, and we are not yet there presently.

“Our record will tell you we have scored only one goal in three matches, and we need to improve on that to get the much-needed wins.”

Meanwhile, The South African recently reported that Mokwena has also vowed to ensure their opponents get zero chances to find the back of the net.

This comes as Sundowns are yet to lose or draw since the start of the new 2023/24 season – they have four wins across all competitions.
