Klate says his men are inspired by their match against Baroka FC and calls the Sundowns tie a David and Goliath affair.

Born in Gqeberha, Klate says facing an unbeaten Sundowns in the DStv Premiership is an honour for his squad.

Klate also reveals their ambition is to gain promotion to the elite division as they look to meet Sundowns in a bumper clash.

“It’s a big occasion, a good experience for La Masia, it’s a David and Goliath situation,” Klate says ahead of the Sundowns game.

“For us, it’s an honour to face Sundowns to see where we are as a team.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to test ourselves against one of the best in South Africa if not Africa’s best.”

While many label Sundowns weak as coach Rulani Mokwena will rest his key players, Klate has a different view.

“When you talk about hope, we have to have hope, we beat Baroka with 10 men,” adds Klate.

“We went down three times and beat them in the penalty shootout.

“So again we can have that point of reference, I don’t think Sundowns can be weakened.

“They have a full squad that has the aspiration to win trophies on the world stage, win the Champions League.”

KLATE ON FUTURE AMBITIONS AND ‘DOWNS CONTEST

The legend, Klate reveals he will encourage his players to fight against Sundowns in a David and Goliath match.

“Our ambition is to get in the PSL, where Sundowns is currently, I don’t think there’s a lack of hope,” continues Klate.

“There should always be hope from my players.

“We can’t go into a game and just roll over and say we’re playing Sundowns.

“It’s my duty as a coach and technical team, myself and Moeneeb [Josephs] to encourage these boys.

“We must motivate them as much as they can to show heart and passion tomorrow.”
