Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki started his tenure at the Soweto club with a 0-0 draw against Chippa United on Sunday.

The former Bafana Bafana coach says there are areas of concern that Chiefs need to improve on going forward after his side failed to score despite creating many chances in their opening DStv Premiership game.

Ntseki said after the game that finishing was a problem for his team.

“If I was to say I am happy with our last-third entries, I am not,” Molefi Ntseki said as quoted by FarPost.

“The last-third entries are very important if you want to win games. If you can’t win games from combinations and penetration, you have to make use of the set-plays.

NTSEKI NOT HAPPY WITH CHIEFS’ LACK OF GOALS

“I am not happy because we needed to create and bury more of those chances. I think having Ranga [Chivaviro] play for the first time since he joined, of which he was not 100 per cent coming from a medical situation,” said Ntseki.

Chiefs have brought in several new players as they look to challenge for top honours but the former Bafana coach knows that there’s a lot to improve if Amakhosi are to compete against the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We can only build on this in terms of the understanding of the front three. The movements, how we move opponents and create those spaces to score. So I think it calls for us to go back and work on our last-third entries so that we can score more goals and create more chances,”said Ntseki.

Chiefs next facer rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 19:30.
