Pitso Mosimane and Mamelodi Sundowns were once an iconic pairing synonymous with one another but that relationship has deteriorated.

Mosimane moved on from his highly successful stint at Mamelodi Sundowns as he sought to break new ground.

PITSO MOSIMANE AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS BREAK UP

The first signs that Mosimane and Sundowns had any bad blood at all came when the coach brought Al-Ahly to face the Brazilians in the Caf Champions League.

Mosimane accused Sundowns of engaging in what he termed ‘dirty tricks’ in a discussion with Sunday World in March 2022.

“There is always drama when I come here. There’s too many things that are personal to me,” Mosimane told the publication.

“It is unbelievable, I don’t want to talk about it now.

“I will talk about it in my book or in my documentary and you will be shocked.

“They are still after me these people, they will not leave me alone – I have moved on. I have left them with a very good team, they have three coaches. What do they want? They won!

“I did my best at the team and I am gone.

“What do they want to achieve? It’s very dirty and I will reveal it all one day, there is a lot. There’s one person behind this and you guys know the person.”

SUNDOWNS WANT COMPENSATION FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT

Meanwhile, it has recently come to light that Sundowns are still pursuing Mosimane for compensation for his departure from the club in 2020.

Goal.com reports Mosimane and his wife Moira Tlhagale, have reportedly enlisted legal heavyweights Thembeka Ngcukaitobi and Jabu Chanza, courtesy of Mabuza Attorneys, to take on their case.

That dispute relates to payments made to MT Sports and Marketing which is run by Mosimane’s wife.

Some fans have claimed that Sundowns have reignited the legal battle because Mosimane is considering a PSL return with Kaizer Chiefs.

Whether he takes the Kaizer Chiefs job or not it seems that the rift with Sundowns will only grow.

Mosimane is a proud man and Sundowns are not likely to take a backward step either.

We can be almost totally certain that Mosimane will never coach Sundowns again.

Mosimane has been successful in challenging former clubs before as just this month he was awarded a massive settlement by FIFA in his case against Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.
