Bafana Bafana’s Teboho Mokoena showcased exceptional performance at the African Cup of Nations, capturing the attention of several European teams.

The 27-year-old midfielder scored two goals at the tournament, helping Bafana reach the semi-finals for the first time in 24 years.

It is more likely that Mokoena will leave DStv Premiership reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season.

TEBOHO MOKOENA TO MOVE TO THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE?

According to Soccer Laduma, English club Bournemouth has shown interest in the midfielder. However, the club has not confirmed which team in England is interested in him.

“They didn’t want to say which club is interested in him in England because they didn’t want to disturb the talks but so far what we know is that it’s Bournemouth. They have made inquiries about the player and now it’s all up to the Sporting Director to make decisions concerning offers and the value of the player.

“Obviously, he won’t come cheap. He is one of the most-priced players not only at Sundowns but in South Africa as well. But knowing English teams they will fight for what they believe is an asset,” Soccer Laduma said.

Mokoena is one of the most prized players not only at Sundowns but in South Africa as well.

Sundowns is unlikely to stand in Mokoena’s way as he seeks a move to Europe. They want to make sure that he goes to a league and team where he will be a regular player.

Another club interested in Mokoena is AS Monaco in France.
