Ithuba revealed on Thursday that the lucky player who bagged Tuesday’s R8 million PowerBall jackpot in draw 1398 played via the Capitec banking app.
CAPITEC PLAYER WINS TUESDAY’S POWERBALL JACKPOT
Tuesday’s jackpot was worth R8 693 189,40. The National Lottery Operator said all banking app winners are notified of their good fortune by their respective banks. “The winner is yet to come forward and claim their winnings.”
Meanwhile, an Alberton man has come forward to claim the R33 million jackpot won in draw 1396 on 11 April.
The 51-year-old finance sector professional purchased the winning ticket the old-fashioned way – from a Spar in Alberton.
The PowerBall winner has no plans to retire and said he would continue working to continue building a legacy for his family.
“We congratulate our latest multi-millionaire and wish him well with his plans for the future. ITHUBA would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate that we are mandated as per our license requirement, to maintain the anonymity of all our winners,” said Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza.
